Pokemon- Some of the Best Medicine There Is

Poor Cara. She is still running a fever. It looks like a trip back to the doctor in the morning. When the Advil kicks in, she is bored and restless. Tonight Robyn and Dad went to the video store to pick up some movies to help break the boredom. First up was "Pokemon the First Movie". The girls were so funny watching it. Robyn discussed how lame Pokemon is, but would turn around and talk about which one was her favorite and how she used to watch it all of the time. They were completely glued to the movie, although they have seen it tons of times. Sometimes it is the old "classics" that do the trick.

Robyn made a couple of other "excellent" choices, so Cara will have others cinematic wonders to view. This is a type of medicine that Cara will be happy to take.

Hanging with the Sickie

We have entered day 2 of "Bored at Home with Mom". Today her fever was up to 103.4. She said she felt fine until I told her she couldn't feel fine with fever that high. Nice try, but you are still not getting on the computer and phone all day. Today was also spent with our good friend SpongeBob. I love Spongebob and even more, Patrick. I can stand a day of SpongeBob alot easier than I can stand a day of Dora or something similar. She is enjoying all of the phone calls from friends letting her know she is missed.

Hopefully she will be fever-free soon. She has a talent show at a nursing home with her Girl Scout troop planned for Saturday and a horse back riding trip planned with the troop on Sunday. I am keeping my fingers crossed.

Hot, Hot, Hot

Cara woke up this morning running a fever. I took her to the doctor and they ran strep and flu tests. I was positive it was an ear infection, but her ears looked fine. She keeps telling me she feels fine. She is bored when she stays home cause the mean old mom doesn't let her hang on the phone and the computer when she is sick. I just hate when that happens.

P.S. Both the strep and flu tests came back negative.

My Nurse

My nurse has been doing a good job of checking on me while I recuperate from pneumonia. Whenever I get up, she follows me wherever I go. Unfortunately I am very slow moving these days, and she usually bumps into the back of my legs as I walk. That cold nose on the back of my legs makes me smile. She even follows me when I go to the bathroom. She goes and gets her bowl (so she can lick whatever minuscule bits of food she left) and waits for me. I could not ask for a more attentive nurse.
